Italy - Veneto

Veneto
The Veneto region is located in Italy's northeast and borders Austria in the north and also runs about 150km along the Adriatic coast, which also shapes the climate. The Etruscans and then the Romans cultivated the lush wine landscape. There are around 94,600 hectares of vineyards on stony, calcareous soils, making Veneto the third largest wine-growing region in Italy. Due to the cooler climate, the hilly hinterland is mainly used for growing white wines. The red wines, on the other hand, mainly come from the warmer coast.
