Tua Rita

Tua Rita
In 1984, Rita and Virgilio realized their lifelong dream by purchasing the property that became Tua Rita. The landscape and buildings on this property were just an environment to live in contact with nature while farming their beloved land. Her overwhelming passion for wine actually changed her plans... The original two hectares of vineyards were meticulously managed from the start. This rigorous and passionate care brought Tua Rita to the most successful producers, dubbed “Vins de Garage”. In less than a decade they had expanded the property to nine acres, then to twenty; Today, the total number of vines planted is thirty hectares. Growth has been fueled by Rita and Virgilio's continued enthusiasm and an ever deeper awareness of the potential of this property in the region between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Colline Metallifere known as Val di Cornia. On the one hand, the property and basement had grown steadily, driven by Rita and Virgilio's extreme dedication. However, thanks to Stefano Frascolla, who was married to the owner's daughter Simena, the winery's brand awareness grew rapidly. Simena remained involved with the family-run business after Virgilio's death in 2010. The name of the property derives from the reversal of Rita Tua's first and last name.
