Santadi

The Cantina di Santadi winery is located in the Sulcis region, in south-west Sardinia, just a few kilometers from the beautiful beaches and white dunes of Porto Pino. After initial difficulties, the winery, founded in 1960, has managed to break new ground and implement different strategies under new management - who, with their determination to stir up enthusiasm and passion - have given it a new perspective with regard to the affiliated cooperative winegrowers and give a more coherent face. The goal is ambitious: to bet on bottled wines, especially typical red wines, and to give a new identity and make the most important grape variety of the area better known: the Carignano, without neglecting the traditional white grape varieties of Sardinia, such as the Vermentino, Nuragus and Nasco. From the oenological point of view, the winery sets high standards and is supported by the internationally renowned winemaker Giacomo Tachis, whose entry into the Cantina di Santadi marked an important turning point. Carignano wines are produced from the grapes of the bush-shaped vines, which are grown according to traditional cultivation methods, with exuberant extract, noble tannins and a perfect balance between organic acidity and the alcohol and polyphenol content.

The well-balanced use of French barrique rounds off the expansion phase of these exciting wines brilliantly and harmoniously. In addition to the great red wines Terre Brune, Rocca Rubia, Araja, Grotta Rossa and Antigua, the winery also produces refined white wines such as Villa di Chiesa, Cala Silente, Pedraia, Villa Solais, Latinia, products of an ancient tradition skillfully combined with new technologies in the field of winemaking, stabilization and bottling.
