Castello di Volpaia

Castello di Volpaia
The Mascheroni-Stianti family is far from aristocratic, but the Castello di Volpaia they own suggests it is. In the heart of Chianti Classico, a few kilometers outside of Radda and surrounded by the best Sangiovese vineyards that exist, the Volpaia family gradually built it up as a tourist attraction with agritourism, restaurant and chapel on the one hand and as a top winery on the other. The winery owns 11.5 hectares, including the two individual layers Baliifico and Coltassala (whose wines are almost never rated below 90 points). Lorenzo Regoli, a studied oenologist from Florence, runs it. He is advised by Riccardo Cottarella, one of the most important and influential wine personalities in Italy.
