Le Macchiole
Cinzia Merli's young winery can already look back on glorious years. On the Tuscan coast, where Bolgheri is grown, Le Macchiole holds a leading position thanks to its uncompromising and skilful pursuit of quality. Cinzia Merli's top wines Paleo, Messorio and Scrio belong to the exclusive group of Tuscan cult wines. That has its price: the trio is expensive – and very, very rare. To get to know the Bolgheri Rosso, the latest creation by Cinzia Merli, is recommended. With the Paleo, she was the first in Italy to produce a great varietal Cabernet Franc. The other two top plants are also varietal: the Messorio is made from Merlot, the Scrio from Syrah.
