Italy - Tuscany

Tuscany
In the center of Italy on the Ligurian coast lies the Tuscany region, which also includes the island of Elba. Along with Piedmont, it is probably one of the most famous wine-growing regions in Italy and is also considered one of the most beautiful areas in terms of landscape. It is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Europe, as the Etruscans had been growing wine here long before the Romans. The approximately 60,500 hectares of vineyards extend from the mountains in the north and east to the Tyrrhenian coast. The climate on the coast is Mediterranean, while in the interior there is a more continental climate.
