Sandeman Medium Dry is an Amontillado Sherry refined with a touch of Pedro Ximenez. For its production, a wine is first vinified from 100% Palomino grapes and, after fermentation is complete, it is fortified with brandy. The wine then matures in a solera system of small barrels and under a yeast veil. A little brandy is then added to kill the yeast and allow the wine to come into contact with the air and thus oxygen. After completion of the maturation process, the refinement takes place with 5% Pedro Ximenez. This sweet sherry has a significant impact on the finished taste of the sherry.
The Sandeman Medium Dry has a golden color reminiscent of amber and copper. The scent that the wine exudes has appealing notes of nuts. A hint of honey also shimmers through, making for a great aromatic substance. On the palate, the sherry also shows a nice body with subtle sweetness. Notes of dried fruits and nuts give the wine an appealing expressiveness. The finale is clear and of good length.
Enjoy the Sandeman Medium Dry Sherry well chilled at a temperature of 10-12°C. It is suitable both as an aperitif, as an accompaniment to starters and as an ingredient in summery Sprizz variants.
