Description
Pronounced fruit, intense red, very good concentration with an excellent taste, subtle and balanced bouquet, aromas of vanilla, coffee and fine wood. Delicately fruity with noble bitter aromas, full and powerful body with a wonderful finish, very soft tannins.
The winery
Bruno Giacosa from Neive in the DOC Barbaresco area is known all over the world as a master of traditional style. His Barolos and Barbarescos are monuments - heavy, powerful, yet overflowing with pure fruit. They are also highly elegant, just as one of the great Nebbiolo crus should be according to the textbook. All wines, including the much-vaunted Barbera from the Falletto site in Serralunga, mature in large barrels with a capacity of several thousand liters. The trick, as the master himself says, is to moderate the temperatures during the alcoholic fermentation and not to overdo it during the maceration.
