Guiseppe Bologna was a humble wagoner who also kept a vineyard for himself and his friends, where he devotedly produced a little wine. The delicious drop quickly made him one of the most popular members of the village community. His son Giacomo probably inherited this devotion and love for the Barbera vine, because he devoted himself completely to it.
In just three generations, the Bologna family has managed to introduce Barbera d'Asti among the great wines of the world. A grape variety that for a long time had not been thought capable of such a size. But Giacomo had a special hand for the vines and recognized that the modern taste of the Barbera with its fine fruit and its round, ripe tannins suits it well.
The Bricco dell' Uccellone has rightly become one of the cult wines of the area.
