Guiseppe Bologna was a humble carter who kept a vineyard for himself and his friends on the side, from which he produced a little wine with great devotion. The delicious drop quickly made him one of the most popular members of the village community. His son Giacomo probably inherited this devotion and love for the Barbera vine, because he devoted himself completely to it.
In just three generations, the Bologna family has managed to introduce Barbera d'Asti among the great wines of the world. A grape variety that for a long time had not been thought capable of such a size. But Giacomo had a special knack for the vines and recognized that the modern taste suits the Barbera with its fine fruit and its round, ripe tannins.
The Bricco dell' Uccellone has rightly become one of the cult wines of the area.
