This is an opulent and royal blended whisky. John Walker & Sons King George V is a sensual, complex and intense whiskey that unfolds a kaleidoscope of flavors and aromas. Light notes of roasted nuts, dark chocolate and a strong sweet smokiness combine elegantly with notes of honey, citrus, orange and rose petals. This luxurious whiskey is characterized by its pronounced complexity.
In 1820, John Walker opened his first small shop, but he had bigger ambitions. Just a century later, John Walker & Sons was appointed Purveyor to the King by King George V.
Johnnie Walker was now well on its way to establishing itself as the world's favorite Scotch whiskey. Being appointed Purveyor to the Royal Court was a significant step in that direction.
John Walker & Sons King George V commemorates January 1st, 1934 when one was appointed Purveyor to the Royal Court.
Only the finest whiskeys from distilleries in operation during George's 25-year reign (1910-1936) are used in its production. Some of these distilleries no longer exist today, e.g. Port Ellen. They are dazzled to express the typical character of Johnnie Walker from that era.
