Description
The Rosso di Montalcino shows considerable class and young strength. It has an intense ruby red color and a pronounced scent, underlined with a pleasant fruit note with hints of cherry, raspberry and some vanilla. The taste is full-bodied, balanced and light tannins, of good persistence.
The winery
La Poderina is located in Montalcino in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area, known for the particular "elegance and balance" of its wines. The property faces the historic 1st century BC Benedictine Abbey of Sant'Antimo. Montalcino is nestled in the Val D'Orcia, which was declared a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 2004.
